The official attendance zone boundary for each elementary, middle, and high school is established by the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education. Students are to attend the school in the zone of the bona fide residence of their parents/legal guardians unless they have administrative approval to enroll elsewhere. A student does not establish a bona fide residence by living in the district or a particular attendance zone for only a portion of the week or only on school days unless this arrangement is specified in a divorce decree or other court order.
Policies and Procedures regarding intra-district transfers are the responsibility of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. The Division of Academic Affairs organizes and facilitates the student administrative placement process for grades K-12. The goal is to work with parents and students in addressing their requests for placement in schools outside of the assigned school zone. See Board Policy Manual Regulation JBC-R School Admissions
