Amerigroup, a managed care company dedicated to improving lives and promoting healthier communities by making health care simpler for individuals served by state-sponsored health programs, has donated $10,000 to purchase water refilling stations for Savannah Chatham County Public Schools.
“We stay actively engaged in local communities, listening to priorities and needs to help ensure we continually evolve to meet those needs," said Tiwanna Jones, Community Relations Representative with Amerigroup. “When we heard there was a need in our schools for contactless water stations, we were happy to make a donation to help procure these devices to assist students."
The contactless and touchless products promote safe and hygienic spaces by helping to limit high use contact points that can harbor germs. The user doesn't have to touch anything except their own water bottle or cup.
Dr. Ann Levett, superintendent, tried out the new water bottle refilling station at Andrea B. Williams Elementary School Thursday. “We now live in a contactless world because of COVID-19 where safety and hygiene are of paramount importance at home, in the workplace, public places, and, yes, at school. We are deeply grateful for the generous support of partners like Amerigroup for helping us provide this service to our students and staff."
During these challenging times, a hands-free operation that makes refilling drink bottles safe and efficient, and prevents the spread of germs, is a welcome tool.
