ESPLOST Funded Richard Mole Auditorium Dedicated at Beach High School

Published on: 4/22/2022

A dedication ceremony was held for the new Richard R. Mole, Sr. Auditorium at Alfred E. Beach High School on Friday, April 22, 2022. The new auditorium was constructed as part of the district's ESPLOST construction program and opened to welcome students at the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

The auditorium is named the Richard R. Mole, Sr. Auditorium to honor a beloved educator, coach and former principal of the school. Richard R. Mole, Sr. began his career as a science and mathematics teacher in 1959 at Sol C. Johnson High School, where he later served as a coach and then became principal.  In 1976, he joined the staff of Alfred Ely Beach High School where he was named principal and served for thirteen years. He took his “no-nonsense" approach into the locker room, onto the football field and into the classroom. He mentored and modeled character building skills into each student under his tutelage.

We are excited to honor Richard R. Mole, Sr. for his many contributions to Beach High School and our community.  Many Beach High alumni, District Administrators, and around a dozen of Mr. Mole's family members joined us for the celebration and the unveiling of a bust of Mr. Mole in honor of the dedication.  See more photos from the event here.
