Ft.
Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield has recognized Savannah-Chatham County Public
Schools as one of the community partners whose support has helped the installation
earn the Army “Communities of Excellence” Gold Award for the seventh time this
year. Clyde Newton, the district’s Economic Development Liaison for the Office
of College and Career Readiness was on hand to accept the award at a
celebration on Tuesday.
The
installation considers the surrounding communities an outreach of itself in
welcoming soldiers and their families to the area. Extended programs supporting soldiers, their
families and the workforce help to maintain the highest level of Readiness on
post.
