Garrison School for the Arts 8th Grader Trenton Brockington has been selected as a member of the 2018-19 Student Advisory Council for State School Superintendent Richard Woods.  The state received nearly 1,000 applications and selected 120 middle and high school students to serve on the Council.

The State Superintendent of Schools' student advisory council is a group of students in grades 7-12 who discuss how decisions made at the state level are affecting students throughout Georgia.

Members meet three times throughout the school year with State Superintendent Woods and are advisors who act as liaisons between the Department of Education and the students of Georgia.

Students may apply for the advisory council at the beginning of each school year by obtaining an application from their school or from this website. Members are chosen by a committee of Georgia Department of Education representatives based on the applicant’s response to questions.
