Groves High School Chosen as Regional Winner of the 2017-18 Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award

Published on: 1/28/2019

Groves High School is being recognized for superior efforts at displaying good sportsmanship during the 2017-18 School Year.  The award is presented by the Georgia Electric Membership Corporation and its member electric membership cooperatives annually to honor Georgia high School Association schools that exhibit exemplary sportsmanship during competitive events. Groves High School joined 55 other GHSA schools throughout the state as winners of the award for the 2017-18 School Year.

Since 1999, Georgia's EMCs have sponsored the Georgia High School Association.  The Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Awards program was introduced in 2006 as a means for GHSA and Georgia's EMCs to both recognize and promote sportsmanship throughout the state.  Selected by GHSA region secretaries, the Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award honors sportsmanship demonstrated by athletes as well as that of fellow students, parents, coaches and spectators alike, making the award a tribute to the entire school community.  Congratulations to Groves High School students, staff and families!
