Kroger's Atlanta Division donated $10,000 in gift cards to help teachers in the Savannah–Chatham County Public School System purchase supplies instead of hosting its traditional Teacher Supply Giveaway events. In the past, Kroger has hosted local Teacher Supply Giveaway events where teachers were invited to pick out free items for their classrooms, from hand sanitizer to copy paper and markers.
“We are excited about the opportunity to continue Kroger's support for our teachers," said Carl Davis, store manager at Wilmington Island Kroger.
The cards were designated for the current Teachers of the Year, said Clyde Newton, Economic Development Liaison for SCCPSS.
