Our student of the month for February is Windsor Forest Elementary School kindergartner, Mustafa Khaksar. He is a newcomer not only to our schools, but to our country as well. He has integrated himself well and become a pillar in our classroom. Students relate to him and look forward to his friendly mannerisms and support.
His nominator, Jacqueline Scott, told us “This young man is helpful, dutiful, and has a calm and kind disposition. He is mastering reading and writing in English (which is not his native language) and he has very strong math skills."
This young scholar speaks five languages and helps interpret for fellow students who speak Arabic languages and other dialects. He often assists other students with mathematics and language development. He is always willing to assist his teachers as well. His behavior is impeccable. He is a model student for any grade, even though he is just in kindergarten. Mustafa was recently recognized as Student of the Week!
Thanks to our community business partners, Mustafa is taking home multiple awardds – gift cards from Members First Credit Union and The Horne Law Firm. Additionally, he receives a meal voucher from Chicken Salad Chick, as well as Chicken Salad Chick merchandise, and a dozen cupcakes from J's Sweet Treats. Mustafa and students of his English/Language Arts class will receive printed copies of his favorite book, “Doug the Pug and the Kindness Crew" by Leslie Mosier and Rob Chanelli from our sponsor E. Shaver Booksellers. Lastly, Mustafa will take home a portrait by Upscale Photography provided by Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. Again, congratulations to Mustafa, his family and his school!
