Fourth Grade New Hampstead K8 student Aarav Dharmaraj, has been named the overall Elementary-level winner of the annual Georgia Historical Society's Georgia Day Statewide Student Art Contest. Aarav was presented with the recognition and a set of brand-new art supplies from representatives of the Georgia Historical Society on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. His family was able to join him for the presentation.
In addition to the art supplies and certificate, Georgia Historical Society education staff will visit Aarav's class at New Hampstead K8 this spring to offer students a lesson featuring art as the primary source and practicing visual literacy skills.
