Our Student of the Month for October is an 8th grader at The STEM Academy at Bartlett Middle School. This high honor roll student is enthusiastic about STEM, according to his teachers. He is an active class participant and works hard to expand his knowledge through activities and assignments.
Our student of the month is described as motivated, dedicated, and having a cheerful outlook. In addition, he is always kind to everyone he meets and is willing to help classmates. He has been a quarterfinalist in the National Science Bee, placed first in the Regional Science Olympiad for Rock-Hound and 24 Game, and third in the Barge Building. He took his 24-game honors to the next competition level and placed 7th in the entire state! He is also an avid reader and took first place in the Reading Bowl. He is a National Junior Honor Society Member and placed in the top 10 of the National Science Fair.
When he is not winning the Science Olympiad, the Science Bee, or the Reading Bowl, you can find this scholar on the soccer pitch in Pooler, volunteering for his church, or helping out at the local food pantry.
When asked what motivates him for academic success, our student replied “I am motivated to strive for academic success because I believe that I should make use of the opportunities people before us have fought for. Additionally, I was taught that education is the key to improve not only one person’s life, but to improve the world as a whole."
