Painting of McCauley Park Donated to Charles Ellis Montessori

Published on: 12/19/2022

Since 1926, the Ellis Montessori family has celebrated the end of the fall term with a festive sing along. This year, we began the festivities with a generous gift from Dino Papadopoulos, a nearby resident, SCCPPS supporter and owner of Sylvan Learning Center. The painting of the grand oaks in McCauley Park was created by local artist, Mia Merlin, and was recognized instantly by the students as their beloved 'Circle Park.' The entire Ellis community is grateful to have this beautiful painting hanging in the halls and we look forward to a continued relationship with both Dino and Mia. The students sang their hearts out, the teachers and staff dutifully performed the silliest Twelve Days of Christmas and the assembly parted after the sweetest of songs, Candle for Peace.
