Our featured Student of the Month representing the month of January attends Southwest Elementary School and is in first grade. His teacher explains he is working on improving his academics constantly. Once, he did not look forward to learning. Now, he is always the first to class and never asks when break time is.
When it is time to do itsLearning assignments, he seeks out an adult for assistance. If he is finished, he shows self-control and reads a book or takes a brain break. He comes to class upbeat, passionate, and excited. During reading, he will volunteer to read informational text, which is an extremely difficult task for first graders. He also has inspired his teacher and the other students to dive into social studies. The class constantly asks questions about historical figures and periods of time.
