Published on: 3/9/2023

Supporters, administrators, our School Superintendent Dr. Ann Levett, Associate Superintendents, Board Members, and the Principal of the Early Learning Center at Henderson E. Formey, Jr. School gathered to celebrate the official opening of the new soft play area in the school's gymnasium. This project has been years in the works and is now an attraction for children to play, learn, and grow from. Business partners such as Georgia Ports Authority, and family members of the late Henderson E. Formey in the person of Mr. Sylvester Formey and Judge Formey joined in the celebration. Principal Erica Swindell-Foster shared her excitement and appreciation, "This indoor play allows our students to have free play, further allowing them explore, experiment, problem-solve, socialize, and learn how important it is to take turns. All of these skills are needed for them thrive during their educational career and well into the work force."
