SCCPSS Communication Efforts Recognized with National Awards

Published on: 6/26/2019

The SCCPSS Division of Communications has received two 2019 Publications and Digital Media awards from the National School Public Relations Association.  The Publications and Digital Media Awards contest is open to all public or private schools or districts, including special schools such as vocational-technical institutes, regional or county education service agencies, education agencies and private businesses serving as partners with those organizations.

The District has been recognized with the top prize - Award of Excellence - for the re-designed Savannah-Chatham County Public School System website.   District Communications staff worked with in-house web services staff to create the look and functionality of the website which transitioned to the current design last fall. NSPRA Award Internet/Intranet Website entries are judged on content clarity, appropriateness and freshness, graphic design, usability, functionality and overall depth of information.

The Communications Division was also awarded an honorable mention recognition for the biannual newspaper insert the District produces for distribution through the Savannah Morning News.

NSPRA Publication and Digital Media prizes are awarded according to publication type and type and size of organization.  Entries are judged only against those from similar organizations.   SCCPSS competes in each category against the largest school districts in the country.  Each entry is judged on the overall excellence of the entry as well as its quality compared to other entries in the category.

The top award in each category is the Award of Excellence.
