The SCCPSS Division of Communications has received ten 2021 Publications and Digital Media Excellence awards from the National School Public Relations Association – recognition in each category staff entered. The Publications and Digital Media Awards contest is open to all public or private schools or districts, including special schools such as vocational-technical institutes, regional or county education service agencies, education agencies and private businesses serving as partners with those organizations.
The District has been recognized with the top prize – Award of Excellence - in four categories. Those include Excellence in Writing, Marketing Materials, Special Purpose Publication, and Video (produced with outside contract).
The Award of Excellence/Excellence in Writing was received for an Op-Ed from the Superintendent published in the Savannah Morning News on March 15, 2021.
The Award of Excellence/Marketing Materials was received for materials produced in support of the New Hampstead K8 School. Items submitted included a video titled District Discussion: A New K8 School at New Hampstead and the new school's web page.
The Award of Excellence/Special Purpose Publication was received for the Log On and Return to Learn insert printed and distributed in the Savannah Morning News in October 2020.
And the Award of Excellence/Video was received for the District's ESPLOST Overview video.
The Communications Division was also awarded two Awards of Merit and four Honorable Mention recognitions.
SCCPSS Director of Communications Stacy Jennings says, “I am extremely proud of all the work our staff did in a year that was anything but normal. We worked hard to keep our school families and staff informed in a constantly evolving environment. To be recognized for our efforts is both gratifying and humbling."
NSPRA Publication and Digital Media prizes are awarded according to publication type and type and size of organization. Entries are judged only against those from similar organizations. SCCPSS competes in each category against the largest school districts in the country. Each entry is judged on the overall excellence of the entry as well as its quality compared to other entries in the category. See the complete list of the District's winning entries below.
