SCCPSS Honors Employees Who Served with Veterans Day Appreciation Dinner

Published on: 11/9/2023

The Savannah Chatham County Public School System honored its employees who have served or are serving our country in the Armed Forces on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at a reception held at the Lower Campus of Woodville-Tompkins cafeteria.  This annual observance recognizes employees in the District for their current and former service, and acknowledges their contributions both in and out of the classroom.

Our Veteran employees bring valuable experience and leadership skills to the workforce that play an important role in the academic success of our students.  Veteran employees represent all branches of the armed forces; some have begun a “second career" after leaving the service, while others are serving in the reserves currently.

The evening included dinner, a recognition ceremony, and a keynote address by Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Commander LTC Bob Cuthbertson.  Musical entertainment was provided by the Groves High School Band.
