SCCPSS Recognized for Partnership With Prevent Suicide Today

Published on: 10/1/2020

The Chatham County Board of Commissioners recognized the Prevent Suicide program for its work with a proclamation in September, which is suicide prevention awareness month.  Dr. Mark Johnson, the CEO of Gateway Community Service Board and the Board Chair of the Planning Council, accepted the proclamation on behalf of all partners.   The proclamation was shared with Dr. Heather Bilton, SCCPSS Director of Human Resources, in recognition of our partnership.  “The Prevent Suicide Today team and Chatham Safety Net have provided our suicide prevention program for the past four years as well as additional employee wellness programs," said Dr. Bilton. “They are fabulous partners and always willing to assist us in keeping students and employees safe."

“We couldn't do any of this work without you," said Vira Salzburn, director of Prevent Suicide Today.  “Thank you for supporting us, training with us, promoting us, praying for us and believing in us. Please know that you make a huge difference in so many lives."
