The Board of Education approved the 2019-2020 School Year calendar at the Regular Meeting of the Board on February 6, 2019. The calendar was developed in a manner that maximizes student
achievement, represents feedback received by the Board’s Calendar Committee,
and includes certain administrative requirements.

180 days of instruction

teachers one full week of pre-planning
- Begins
the school year on Monday, August 5, 2019
- Maintains
an academic focus for the completion of major state testing before
extended breaks (i.e. Winter Break)

11 “Holiday for All” Days

10 Staff Planning Days
- Includes
two early release days (for staff professional development)
- Includes
one full week of Thanksgiving Break

two week Winter Break
- Begins
second semester with a staff planning day on Monday, January 6, 2020 / students
return on Tuesday, January 7

before graduation ceremonies start
