Transitioning to middle and high school is more than just “moving on up" to the next grade. Students have a new school to learn, new friendships, new teachers, and new expectations. Even though we can't welcome our rising 6th and 9th graders in person, we are planning an experience for them that will provide a transition to their new school home and help them become VIRTUALLY UNSTOPPABLE. On August 17 and 18, SCCPSS will host a Drive-In event at Overcoming by Faith Church Ministries, 9700 Middleground Rd.
Each school will have a designated time to celebrate their 6th and 9th graders in “Drive-In Movie" style. 6th and 9th grade teachers will be present to greet and welcome their students during the drive-up event, and other school personnel will be introduced during a brief presentation that will be shown on the big screen. Each student will receive a “Welcome Back" packet that includes school supplies, school spirit gear and helpful information to help you LOG ON and RETURN TO LEARN. You will recieve information from your child's school on the date and time of your scheduled event.

All vehicles will be directed to a parking space. Parking spaces will be marked and spaced in accordance with safety and social distancing guidelines. For the safety of all present, participants should not exit cars. Each car must contain the transition student and a maximum of 4 others. No vehicles will be permitted that do not contain a transition student. Once cars are parked, the distribution team will walk among the cars to distribute Welcome Back Packets during the event. Staff participating in distribution will wear gloves and face masks. Click here for a schedule.
