Congratulations to our Student of the Month for November, Trizariah Zai'bree Freeman, a senior at Windsor Forest High School. Triz is a high honor roll student with a GPA of 92. She is a top student in math and humanities at her school AND has perfect attendance!
Our honoree is a peer mediator, a member of the National Honor Society, a Student Ambassador, helped start a backpack food program for her high school, and is a member of the Student Council. Her nominator, Mr. Michael Barth, said: “On Student Council, she has helped students see opportunities in life, and have self-determination. She says, ’I want to help grow that person to be their best self every day.’ By creating ideas and projects, such as the Community Service Expo that will expose students to service opportunities in Savannah, she believes that all students have value and can fulfill their dreams in life if they have the right people to support them.”
Mr. Barth continued, “In my 25 years in public, urban education, this student is probably in the top 5 students I have known, in terms of leadership, helping others without ever expecting anything in return, and in terms of kindness. She is a top scholar academically at Windsor Forest High School, but really this nomination is about her desire to make Windsor Forest a better place for all adults and children who walk through the doors.” He went on to say “I really can't put into words how much she has made Windsor Forest a better place, and I'm only in my 4th month of employment here! You must meet her - she lights up any room!”
When asked what motivates her to strive for academic success, Miss Freeman said “Keep your head up and forward, never down and backwards. This is my mantra!”
Congratulations to Triz, her family, and the faculty and staff at The Castle!
