On Monday, September 21, 2020, Savannah Toyota Managing Partner Scot Ritchie presented Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools with a donation of collected devices and a check for funds to assist the district with providing students the tools they need for online learning.
On September 4th, Ritchie had posted on the business Facebook page regarding the serious need for computers and tablets for Savannah students who have had to engage in distance learning since the beginning of the school year. The post announced a tablet drive during which Savannah Toyota would match any new or highly functioning used tablet donated 1 for 1.

The post took off, reaching thousands through social media, and prompting area businesses to join in on the effort. Savannah Toyota had a total of 20 vendors, including MembersFirst Credit Union, Ameris Bank, and One Digital among others, send in monetary donations as well as devices. Twelve devices were donated by Savannah Toyota vendors and employees and the monetary donations along with Savannah Toyota's match add up to $10,000!

Clyde Newton, Economic Development Liaison for Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools accepted the donations on behalf of the Educate Chatham Foundation. We thank our valuable community partners at Savannah Toyota and the vendors who joined with them to provide this valuable assistance to our students!
