Student Organization Donates School Supplies to Pulaski Elementary

Published on: 4/27/2021

Pulaski Elementary School received nearly 1500 dollars in school supplies on Monday, April 26, 2021 thanks to a dedicated group of Savannah high school students.  Students Helping Students Succeed is a county-wide student volunteer group created in response to the challenges many of our younger students are facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  High school students from all eleven Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, as well as area private schools have teamed up to support several initiatives to support those young students this year.

For several weeks, SHSS accepted donations from students and parents of school supplies and money which they used to purchase supplies to support students at Pulaski Elementary.  The president of the group, Ava Dorminey, is a Junior at Savannah Arts Academy.  Supplies included:

  • Clear or Mesh Bookbags
  • Spiral Notebooks
  • Crayons
  • Plastic Pencil Boxes
  • Pocket pronged folders
  • #2 Pencils
  • Primary Writing Journals
  • Glue Sticks

Ava says she hopes to expand the group's reach to other schools in the next school year.  See more photos from the donation to Pulaski Elementary here.
