Superintendent Watts Releases First 100 Day Plan

Published on: 7/16/2023

Many leaders consider a 100-Day Plan to be essential for a successful launch in a new role.  No matter how many years of experience a person has, being a leader in a new role is even more challenging today than ever before.  Even the most senior of leaders take the time to create a plan that allows them to address the complexity of the workplace these days.   A 100 Day Plan is an action plan to guide executive leaders through their first critical months in a new role – outlining strategies and tactics to identify and engage key stakeholders and to build relationships, understand the business, set goals, and gain traction quickly so you can set up a foundation for long-term success in an organization.

Dr. Denise Watts' 100 Day Plan includes action steps that includes active listening and engagement with the community, staff and students.  "This entry plan aims to ensure a strong transition into the school district," said Dr. Watts.  "For the first 100 days of my transition, I will assume a learning orientation to fully understand the context of SCCPSS."
