The School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High Hosts 3DE Market Day

Published on: 3/28/2022

The School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High hosted an event last week that allowed their 3DE students to showcase their entrepreneurial talents.  3DE 11th-grade students have worked diligently to create business plans; engaging with business coaches while working through case studies to prepare for their yearlong projects. Students presented the results of their efforts during a pop-up shop marketplace on Friday, March 25, 2022.

3DE is a Choice program that was developed through a shared vision from leaders in education, the business community and Junior Achievement.  The School of Liberal Studies was the FIRST school outside the Atlanta area to partner with Junior Achievement to create a 3DE learning experience for students.  3DE students have unique educational experiences that allow them to:

  • Gain exposure to a wide variety of industries, premiere companies, and careers
  • Learn through real business challenges
  • Interact with business and community professionals
  • Build valuable skills needed for success in high school, college, and the professional world
  • Explore colleges

The year-long project required students learn how to budget and determine how much to charge for their goods to gain as much real-life skill and experience as possible.  Students were able to keep the profits they made Friday after fellow students visited their shops.  Smoothies, cupcakes, snacks, and beauty products were just some of the items available for purchase.
