The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) announced this year that 130 Georgia public schools in 55 districts have earned 2019 Greatest Gains school awards based on their performance on the Single Statewide Accountability System.  Three of those schools are right here in Savannah-Chatham County with Savannah Arts Academy earning a Gold level award, Savannah Early College a Bronze and Johnson High School a Silver level award. Greatest Gains schools must earn a three-year average College and Career Ready Performance Index Progress Score that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile.

Awards are also given in the Highest Performing category to schools earning a three-year average College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Content Mastery Score that ranks in at least the 93rd percentile.  Savannah Arts Academy was one of 105 schools across 19 districts in the state awarded that distinction, earning a Silver level award.  Only 46 schools in 14 districts were named award winners in both categories.
