Woodville Tompkins Student Wins Xcel South Georgia Welding Competition

Congratulations to Woodville-Tompkins High School student Tanner Outen for his 1st Place performance at the Xcel South Georgia Welding Competition on April 20, 2023. Tanner is an intern at JCB North America and a senior in the Work-Based Learning Program at Woodville-Tompkins Technical and Career High School.

Tanner competed against welders representing several technical colleges, local businesses, and high school students from Georgia and South Carolina.  He won a Fronius Welding Machine for his first place finish.  His Welding Instructor, Barry Kennedy, his JCB North America mentor Sam O'Connell, and Xcel helped prepare him for the opportunity.
