Back to School Information for SCELA - updated 7/21/21
OPEN HOUSE will be held virtually on Monday August 2nd from 4 - 7pm. Each teacher will be available in a zoom session to answer questions and greet students. We will also hold Synchronous Orientation sessions at 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm. Zoom links for Open house are NOW AVAILABLE by CLICKING HERE and on our Facebook page. We cannot wait to meet our Sea Dragons!
Parent Student Handbook: Please take time to read the Parent/Student Handbook and sign the Expectations Agreement. All students must have a signed Expectations Agreement on file with file with the school.
Remember that we have moved and our office is now located at 3609 Hopkins St. Room 7 Savannah, GA. Please enter from the parking lot along 52nd St. All device returns/deployments will be done from this location
All Parents and Students (new and returning) must participate in a SCELA Orientation. Orientation will be delivered synchronously (live) and asynchronously (on your time) Orientation options are listed below:
Synchronous Orientation: Families can attend the synchronous orientations by registering for a zoom link below. Click on the date/time you want to attend to register for the Orientation Session Asynchronous Orientation: You may complete Orientation at a time that is convenient for you and your family through our asynchronous option. Devices may be checked out via a drive-thru process on the following dates
Wednesday July 28th 8am - 3pm
Friday July 30th 9am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm
Monday August 2nd 9am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm
Tuesday August 3rd 9am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm
Devices are to be picked up at the SCELA office located at 3609 Hopkins St. in Savannah (note address change). Please enter the parking lot along 52nd St. to receive your device.

What to expect for device pickup:
Please bring a copy of your photo ID
Please plan to pay for insurance online to purchase the device protection plan. Note: Insurance payments must be made within 1 week of device checkout. After 1 week, insurance payments will not be accepted, and parents will be responsible for the full cost of repairs/replacements. Insurance can be purchased online starting next week.
Parents will sign out a device, indicate their plan for insurance, and sign the SCELA expectations agreement
SCELA Device Return: . Students participating in Summer School or Summer EMBRACE may keep their device and return it July 26 - 28th. Device return will occur July 26 - 28th at our new office (3609 Hopkins St.)
Uniform Policy: SCELA does not have an official school uniform. Students must be dressed appropriately for school following the SCCPSS Code of Conduct for non-uniform days. Students should not attend class in their pajamas.
Address Changes: If you have moved, please submit a new proof of address to the SCELA office.
Phone Numbers and Emails: Please contact our office if you have changed phone numbers or email addresses. Email is the main form of communication at SCELA, so it is very important that we have the email that you check daily on record.
Immunizations: All rising 7th and 11th grade students must have updated immunizations on file with our office. Please make sure you contact your child's pediatrician or the Health Department to ensure your child is up to date on all required immunizations.
